I'm Sromona Burman, a social scientist and a researcher. I develop tools to study the resource conflicts that emerge from environmental change and disaster. My interest lies in understanding who bears the cost and how communities adapt, resist, or are reshaped in response. I apply fieldwork, spatial analysis, and policy analysis as my primary methods. Building on these, I study climate vulnerability, resource conflict, and the geographies of resilience through an intersectional lens.

Apart from research, my interests wander — painting, swimming, and lately, perfume oils and aromatherapy. I enjoy craft work like sewing fabric covers for books and restoring old chairs through woodworking. With a similar spirit of interests, I run Jalebi Folk, an initiative that exhibits handicrafts made by refugee and tribal artisan communities.
